OTA's today
There's lots of news out of training camp today. First off, Jamarus has weighed in at a svelte 269 pounds and expects to drop about five off that before too long. How's that major media? Where's the 300+ pounder? Anyways, we have some good and bad news on the offensive side of the ball. Ronald Curry recently had foot surgery for an unknown reason and won't be back to camp until June. This is giving Drew Carter a shot at the outside spot which he may not give up. Jevon Walker has been speeding up since last season where he says he was having problems because his knee was not healed. At the RB position, Fargas started off as our first string. This isn't a shock. Finally, LaMont didn't even bother to show up to OTA's. We've likely seen that last of him. There was a strange rumor I heard earlier today on the radio suggesting LaMont may be traded to Chicago soon, but it's totally unsubstantiated.
On Defense, Kalimba Edwards looks to be the early favorite to start opposite Burgess. Huff has moved into the FS position officially as well. Lastly, in the "what are they thinking" file, Ed Hartwell started at MLB with Morrison on the strong side. Whatever. This won't last unless they decide that the MLB only stays on the field on first down with the two OLB's playing on second and third downs.
