Raiders sign a new Center

Wadejohn OaklandRaiders.com reports the Oakland Raiders signed free-agent C John Wade (Buccaneers) Monday, March 31. Wade started every game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2005-07 and has started every game of a season in six out of 10 seasons since joining the league.  He looks like a healthy replacement for Newberry.

Opening game in the Black Hole vs. Denver!

3081 The Broncos will open their season with the late Monday night game Sept. 8 against their AFC West Division rival Oakland Raiders in the Black Hole.  This should be a fantastic game and a definite sellout.  We have the opportunity to beat a division rival, at home, on Monday night to start the season at the top of our division.  There is no better way to begin.

Fabian for a 2nd rounder?

Washgintonfabian The Browns and Raiders have exchanged e-mails regarding CB Fabian Washington.  Within the same report it is claimed that the Raiders have an offer on the table with another team for a 2nd round pick.  As I've stated in previous posts, it doesn't make sense for the Raiders to let him go for less than a 2nd rounder.  The Patriots make an obvious trade partner for that 2nd rounder as does the NY Giants.  I can imagine Al wanting to see if he can get earlier into the 2nd round.

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila back in black...

Akbar_gbajabiamila Raiders signed DE/OLB Akbar Gbaja-Biamila to a two-year contract.  This is how we fill out the bottom 1/3 of our roster.  We bring in these guys who are good on special teams and can fill in if we're in a pinch.  AGB is a speed rusher or an over-sized OLB.

Grady Jackson almost brought back....

Jacksongrady The Raiders had "serious thoughts" about signing free agent DT Grady Jackson over the weekend, according to ESPN's John Clayton.  He still may be a good option although he would be playing the same position as Sands and Warren.  Right now we need another penetrating 3 gap DT.

The Chris Carr offer sheet....

Moneyrain The offer sheet restricted free agent DB Chris Carr signed with the Titans is believed to be worth just under $2 million for two years.  That sounds like a contract Al Davis should match.

Killer Football Simulation Game... give it a try!

I just joined up to play this football simulation game on-line.  You create a player, giving him stats, equipment and skills.  That player goes through the season as part of a team, increasing the points available to spend.  Individuals can create teams, recruiting (signing to contracts) players to their teams from around the web.  The game is called Goal Line Blitz.  I made a NT named Dingo McLovin.

Chris Carr signed by Titans...

Carr343 The Titans just signed Carr to an offer sheet.  We won't get any compensation if we don't match the offer.  We have seven days to match or decline.  Hopefully we'll find out how much the Titans signed him for before too long.
