Not again.... strikes blow....

Money20bag20with20dollar20sign_2

The Associated Press reports the executive director of the NFL Players Association, Gene Upshaw, said Thursday, Jan. 31, that if NFL owners opt out of the current labor agreement later this year, the players' union is ready for a strike. In the 2006 agreement, players received an extra $850-900 million in the form of revenue sharing, raising the salary cap for 2007 to $107 million. Upshaw said the biggest disagreement is within the league, between small-market and large-market owners who disagree over non-shared revenue, such as local advertising, concessions and parking.

Not again.  Greed is sick.  Frankly, the last think I want to hear about right now is players wanting more money.  I've been watching such sub-standard ball over the last 5 years that they should be paying me money.

Lofton not a shock to Kiffin

Kiffinseniorbowl Now it sounds like bringing Lofton on staff was not a shock to Kiffin.  Lane is mainly staying out of the media because he has no interest in playing along with their game.  The media in turn is speculating that silence equals truth.

Morrison on SIRIUS

Morrison_action1 Kirk Morrison was on SIRIUS Radio today talking up Lane Kiffin.  He expressed what a great attitude he has brought to the team after the last two attempts.  The winning attitude had begun to show on the practice field as the season went on and Morrison felt that it was starting to show on game day as well.  2008 will be about bringing the wins to the field.

This is an extreme difference from what the major media would want us to believe about Kiffin and the Raiders.  I'd be curious to know exactly who is leaking all this information to the media.

Al Saunders NOT a Raider...

Saunders1Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the St. Louis Rams hired Al Saunders as their new offensive coordinator Wednesday, Jan. 30. Saunders was a Rams assistant coach in 1999 and 2000. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

It appears Kiffin isn't going to be threatened by Saunders in '08.

Sam Williams re-signed...

Williamssam We just solved part of our linebacker depth problem by signing Sam Williams for another year.  This was likely for the veteran minimum considering his injury history.  It sounds like Al Davis is keeping around one of his favorite sons.

To celebrate the shift in administrative anal-retentiveness, here's a lesson for our defense on how to tackle.  Notice how well the defender wraps up the receiver....

Players crying about Kiffin... but in a bad way...

Crying

Jason Jones, of the Sacramento Bee, reports Oakland Raiders players have begun calling managing general partner Al Davis to express their displeasure with head coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin's insistence on wanting to fire defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, defensive line coach Keith Millard, linebackers coach Don Martindale and defensive backs coach Darren Perry is considered a reason for the players' displeasure.  The last time I checked, the players don't get to pick their coaches.  Also, the last time I checked, if you go to the CEO to complain about your bosses boss, you got your ass fired.  Who runs this asylum?
